Nothing begins rolling out the stable Android 15 update for the Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a).

After months of beta testing on select devices, Nothing has officially started rolling out the stable Android 15 update for the Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a), ahead of other models.

The rollout of Android 15 has been somewhat unconventional, but Nothing is progressing swiftly with the update to Nothing OS 3.0, which is built on the latest Android version. Initially launched in beta for the Nothing Phone (2a), the update gradually expanded to other devices in the series over the past few months.

Now, the first stable version is finally available.

According to a forum announcement, both the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (2a) are now receiving the stable Android 15 update with Nothing OS 3.0. The update is being deployed in phases and is expected to reach all users by the end of 2024. Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus, and CMF Phone 1 are set to receive their stable updates in early 2025.

Nothing OS 3.0 introduces several enhancements, including a redesigned Quick Settings menu, an “Enhanced pop-up view” for apps, improved system-wide typography, and “Shared widgets” that allow users to sync widgets with other Nothing devices. Additionally, a Countdown widget is set to arrive later this month.
