Hero Vida VG Electric Scooter
Hero recently showcased the VG electric scooter at the EICMA Show. While it has not yet been launched in India, its release is anticipated soon. To make the scooter more affordable, several cost-cutting measures have been implemented.
Design Changes
The Hero Vida VG sports a simple design with large panels and minimal curves, resembling traditional petrol scooters. However, key mechanical components like alloy wheels, tire size, and disc brakes remain unchanged.
Touchscreen Removal
The previous 7-inch touchscreen has been replaced with a smaller non-touch display, which can be controlled via a joystick for ease of use.
Battery & Range
The scooter is equipped with two batteries, offering a combined range of approximately 80 km. The battery sizes are expected to be similar to earlier Vida models.
Storage & Convenience
A redesigned boot layout provides a storage capacity of around 27-28 liters, allowing for larger items. Additionally, a backrest has been added to the seat, enhancing comfort for riders.
Feature Reductions
Some features have been removed to cut costs, including:
- Keyless start, which has been replaced with a traditional key system.
- Integrated indicators, now housed within the tail section for improved durability.
River Indie Gen 2 Electric Scooter
The second-generation River Indie electric scooter has introduced notable upgrades, including a new gray color option and additional accessories such as a crash guard, footpegs, and luggage compartments.
Chain Drive Upgrade
One of the most significant changes in the River Indie Gen 2 is the switch from a belt drive to a chain drive. This enhances durability, particularly on rough roads, and improves efficiency by approximately 6%.
Phone Mount Alternative
Instead of integrating a touchscreen display, the scooter now features a phone mount, allowing riders to use their smartphones for navigation and controls.
